FA Nutriberry Recipe

I have been working on this for a while now, adding and changing the ingredients and of course test tasting from my feathered experts . My birds all love the original nutriberries, but I am not thrilled with the cost or some of the ingredients.

preheat oven to 325º

You will need a blender or food processor for the following ingredients….

puree the following
1c. ground pellets of your choice – I used Harrison natural
1c ground nuts – I used almonds and walnuts
1/2c dried fruits – I used cranberries, mango and pineapple

I did not puree these items
1/2c various ground seeds – I used pumpkin, quinoa, ground flax, hemp and chia
1/2c ground oats
1/2c shredded coconut
1/2c organic baby food – I used sweet potato…you could also use cooked fresh veggies as well, but you will need to puree them.

I ground up the dry ingredients first, and then did the wet items.

Mix them all together well and then you start forming the mixture into small balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. You will need to press them hard into the palm of your hand, in order for them to maintain the desired shape during and after baking.

Bake for 20 minutes, I turned them once after 10 minutes to make sure they were not browning on one side. Then after cooling place in a tupperware type container for storage. They are cookie like in hardness and can crumble fairly easy, however the larger birds did not have any difficulty in holding them in one piece while eating them.

Ozzy, Blossom and the Tiels loved this recipe…so far lol. Hope your Angels love it as well. Btw if you serve them warm, your babies will love that also
