This is very common behavior, we kinda laugh here and call it the making of birdie soups. Not sure why your bird just started doing this, but it is nothing to be concerned with.
Just make sure to change the water bowl often so that bacteria is washed out of it and fresh water provided. I change my bowls sometimes three or more times a day, just depending
on if they get dirty 🙂
