Hope is a Gift!

The Troy Ohio parrot rescue is just one of the many sad cases of neglect and abuse. There are many more cases still undetected or reported. My heart just aches knowing that there are Angels out there living in such deplorable conditions. I truly believe that Feathered Angels are gifts from God. We are suppose protect and cherish them. God made the rainbow as a promise, he filled the skies with birds to give us hope.

Can you imagine what these precious Angels have gone through or thought? Those of us who share our lives with Feathered ones, know that they feel, think and even show remorse. So what must they be thinking as they look out the window of their prison? What were they thinking as they watched others dying? What did they think when they were hungry and yet nobody came with food or water for them? What were they thinking when another day was over and yet nobody came to save them? What were they thinking as they looked out this window at the fresh air and the birds that were flying free?

We have taken this most beautiful gift and caged it, neglected it, cut off its very wings to keep it in our possession. To me hope means freedom, choice, love and happiness. These Angels are still so forgiving and loving. As the Rescue workers went in to save them, they have found Feathered Angels that still are willing to step up and snuggle into their saviors. These Feathered Angels still have HOPE! They have been through such horrors and still they have HOPE. They have been starved, mutilated, left in darkness and unloved…and yet they have HOPE. As I looked into the eyes of some of these precious Angels, I wondered how they could hold onto Hope at all. We have severely failed these precious souls.

What happened to these precious Angels is unforgivable. This case is still ongoing and the Rescue workers are out there from dawn till dusk trying to save these precious souls and show them that there are still humans left in this world that care. The time has come for us to each stand up and make a difference. It is our responsibility to NOT look away and hope that someone else does something! If you believe that any precious soul is in danger, being neglected or abused, then get involved!!!

The time has come for us to make a choice. We can pretend this doesn’t exist, we can pray that someone else does something to end it, we can shake our heads and walk away….or we can do something to make a difference. Dollars might be short, but our voice is free to use! Please take a moment to use these links and find ways you can help from the comforts of your own home. Get involved and don’t be afraid to stand up and say “this has to stop!”. They cannot speak for themselves, it is up to each one of us to show these Angels that Hope is on the way for them also! we have not forgotten them. Please time has run out for many of them, lets not let others suffer needlessly. This is our world too and if we care, we will make a difference for ALL living creatures. If we don’t stop this, whose to say where this will end. How much worse does it have to get?

  1. What you wrote made me shed a tear. “We have taken this most beautiful gift and caged it, neglected it, cut off its very wings to keep it in our possession.” How true and how sad. We all need to do our part to help. Over the past 35 years I have watched birdkeeping grow to what it is today. It breaks my heart. I will be sending in my donation and have offered discounts to clients who wish to make a difference and aid in the efforts.

  2. This just breaks my heart.I don’t know how anyone could be so cruel. My husband and I live in Kettering and would be willing to take one of the birds when they are well if they are available for adoption. I am sending a donation. God Bless.

  3. I would LOVE to get my hands on the sorry SOB responsible. This is unacceptable. I don’t care if he’s 30 or 100, I’d love to pound his ass for this.
