Hello, my name is Esther and I am the founder and owner of Graham’s Parrot Toy Creations, LLC. I wanted to take some time to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about myself.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved animals. Growing up, we had canaries and English budgies. My first passion were dogs and I volunteered at the local dog shelter and cleaned kennels and walked the dogs. To this day, Senta a German Shepard, has a part of my heart that she took with her when she passed away some 20 some years ago. I also enjoyed horse back riding and started when I was about 8 years old.
Throughout my childhood, I tried to save several wild birds with little success. With the help of a friend who was attending veterinary school, we managed to save a little barn swallow with a broken wing and set it free once it was strong enough. Hehehe, I also remember chasing a cat to save a little mouse. My grandmother had a major fit when I came home with a mouse in my hands….GOOD TIMES!
I found my passion for birds after rescuing a love bird from a former co-worker. He had put her in a storage unit with his furniture, no heat, in the middle of a Pennsylvania winter….She is now about 25 or 26 years old. While getting her a new cage and a nail trim, I fell in love with a baby Goffin’s cockatoo. We now own (or are owned) by Doobie the love bird, Spikey and Scooby (re-home) the cockatiels, Stitch the Goffin’s, Kito the Blue Crown Conure, and Tequila the Military Macaw. There are also Markus, a pom/sheltie mix who we adopted from the Maryland Animal Rescue back in 1997; Pudgie, chihuahua/pom mix, who was an “accident” and we got him from a local family in 2007 at 8 weeks old; then came Sir Peanut O’rion, a Chihuahua who I purchased from a local breeder at 8 weeks old.
Based on my passion for animals and my concern for their safety, I decided to make my own bird toys and offer them to the public; hence, Graham’s Parrot Toy Creations was born.
